Welcome to Storm!
My name is Zaramordel and I am the Guild Master of Storm. I have had ample amounts of experience with MMORPG’s as I was apart of the WoW community for several years, but then quit due to a lack of interest in the game. From WoW, I decided to move away from PC MMORPG’s and focus more on the mobile mmo community. As many others on these forums, I was a previous member of the O&C game/forums from the release of the game and created one of the first guilds on the WI server. The game became very repetitive and a lack of security throughout the game resulted in my departure from O&C. Now I have come here to the World of Midgard to share my experience and knowledge with others who seek it to form a guild known as Storm.
Basic Guild Information
- Server: Donar (PVE)
- Faction: Fury
- Website: http://storm-wom.enjin.com
- TS server: Available on Guild webpage
Focus
Storm is primarily a PVE guild who plans on taking down endgame bosses, obtaining gear for our fellow members, and overall help our players know the insides and outs of their respectable classes.
To take into account the interest of PVP amongst players, Storm will also be a participant in the various PVP events WoM has set in place such as battlegrounds, rated arenas, etc. It is our plan, to create and host tournaments for the server on a bi-weekly basis. This will give players the opportunity to fight for a prize while still playing in fair and friendly environment. Currently a Tournament template is being worked on and should be made available on this thread once it is complete and the game is released.
Admission into Storm
We have no intention of being one of the largest guilds found in WoM as most of the time, it becomes very difficult to manage and lead and eventually becomes completely disorganized. Storm will more than likely be a smaller guild as it is much easier to manage and organize. If it so happens that we end up having a large member base due to the sole interest of players wanting to join, then so be it. Quantity is not a necessity, but we will always keep our eyes open for quality, as that is essential for a great and successful guild.
Currently, users are encouraged to sign up for our guild’s website, which will be discussed further on later. Because the game currently is not released, an application is not required for admission, although it is highly encouraged to fill one out as this will allow us to learn more about you and find out some of your personality. Once the game is fully released, the only way to join Storm is to fill out an application. Myself along with other officers will discuss your admission and maybe communicate with you through the comment box on your application. You will then be notified upon your acceptance or rejection.
Now, just because we have an application process, I am hoping that others will not be discouraged about joining Storm. We are a very laid back group of people who love to have fun and chat up a storm (too easy), the application is just a gateway for us to find out more about you. But please take the time to fill the application to the best of your ability because believe it or not, leaving short answers really says a lot about your character and personality. We’re a fun bunch and would love to have you join because your membership is very important to us.
Guild Website
I feel that it is important to give our members a formal webpage as this will allow our members to better communicate, organize events, chat about nonsense and game related topics, etc. The web address that is home to the Storm Guild page is as follows:
- It’s also found at the beginning of this thread >_<
Even though we have our own thread on WoM’s forums, our official guild page is where the majority of our communication and discussion will come from. Members are encouraged though to stay active on both the WoM forums as well as our guild website. The site is continually growing and things are constantly being added as I am trying to create the best possible environment for our members.
On our guild page, we have a Team Speak made available to our registered users. All members will be able to have access to this to talk to other members while either questing, raiding, or just want to have a nice friendly chat. This will promote teamwork amongst our members as well as help to build lasting friendships with fellow guild mates.
Guild Policies and Rules of Regulation
On our official website, under our Recruitment and Policies forum, we have a few threads that talk about how to apply, what the forum rules are, guild policies, guild ranks etc. We wanted to make these accessible to the general public because we feel that knowing what is expected while in the guild is important to our potential members.
Although there are several rules and policies set out for the guild, the GM as the right to reserve any changes in these rules to his discretion. Any change will be discussed with the guild council so there is an opportunity for others to give in their thoughts/ideas.
Leadership and Membership Promotions
Storm has a structural foundation where members are given the opportunity to achieve higher ranks within the guild. These ranks will be given through promotions that are based off of a person’s character, personality, activity, helpfulness, and many other qualities that are seen in a leader and dedicated player.
Promotions will be discussed between the officers and myself. I feel that everyone needs to have a say in who is promoted, but I will have the final say under no circumstances. I usually agree with my officers anyway so for the most part, are never any major conflicts of interest.
These promotions are not to be handed out. Promotions are to be earned and deserved based on several factors that could influence a promotion to take place.
Events and Communication
Many of our guild events will be planned out on our guild’s calendar where members can actively schedule events for other member’s to sign-up and participate in. Some of these events will be discussed in-game, but the official planning will take place on the official Storm guild website.
The major mode of communication will be through our guild forums on the Storm website, but communication will also take place through our Team Speak server and our guild thread on the WoM forums.
We will make a tournament forum on our guild’s website made available to the public so that other guilds from the Donar server will be able to sign up through that. If that becomes an issue, we will have sign-ups take place on our guild thread on the WoM forums.
Last Words (IMPORTANT)
I don’t want to leave people under the impression that we are a hardcore guild and that you are required to always be online. We are just the opposite. We understand that people have lives outside of gaming, whether it is school, work, family or friends. Those all come before gaming, as they are a vital part of our lives and should be cherished.
Our goal is to create a nice and friendly environment for our members to just have fun, but still be able to obtain the best gear and defeat endgame bosses. We are understandable people and are laid back and only wish the best for our members, as everyone needs to be treated with respect. All immaturity will be dispelled from this guild as we are creating a mature place for people to talk about whatever they please (there are exceptions: religion, politics, and other controversial topics).
Please come to our website and see what we’re all about. Fill out an application and we will remain in communication with you as our members are very active and you should receive notice in less than 48 hours.
We look forward to seeing you in Storm!
