Phase II Update

There are now two servers for users to play on. A PvE (Donar) and PvP (Valkyrie). Both servers have the same content. The only difference is that in the PvP server, you can attack players of the other Faction anywhere in the world. PvE server will have battlegrounds, and a optional PvP flag if you wish to world PvP. You do not loose your gear or loose durability if you die to another player on either server.

If you do not own a account and have not made any purchases, account creation is now supported.

The PC/Mac version is no longer available to new testers. It is still available for users who purchased a Dragon in time for Phase I access, a TBW access pass, or a 5 mount pack. All other users must have a Android device to play in Phase II. **Note: Free beta subscribers will not have access to PC/Mac versions**. UPDATE: You can now purchase a Mac/PC access pass for Phase II! Remember that PC/Mac versions will be discontinued for good in Faction Wars.

There will be other IAP's in Phase II, such as elixirs and scrolls, bag slots, and zones. Stuff that is permanent, like bag space and zones will stay after TBW. Stuff like Food, Elixirs, and Scrolls will not stay. So make sure if you purchase any consumables, that you only purchase what you will use. Also note that since character level, items, and gold will be wiped at the end of TBW, these purchases are considered to be donations. There is no functionality to clear everything but the purchasable consumable items.

If you purchased a mount, and would like to retrieve it, a help desk will be setup. Provide your paypal receipt, or email used to make the purchase.Please note that once you place your exclusive item, it is on that character for good. If you purchased one of the hat/helmet items, you will have to wait until Faction Wars to retrieve them, since they are not ready to be implemented at the moment.

At the end of Phase II, Faction Wars will launch. There is no specific date for the end of Phase II, it will receive regular content updates and bug fixes. Faction Wars will start once the developers decide that the game is up to the standards that they want it to be for Faction Wars. All data, other then character names, character titles, mount and unlocking purchases will be deleted from the game when Phase II ends. Everyone starts Faction Wars at level one, with none of their items or gold. Faction Wars will include IOS devices and be on the Apple Market. PC/Mac versions will be completely removed at this point.

Remember, even though the game will now be open to the Android public, it is still a beta. The game play is expected to have roughness and there are expected to be bugs. The content to this point is basic. Most of the interaction at this point involves testing. If you are wanting to play the game, like an actual game, Faction Wars will be just that. No specific dates are given, but user speculation points towards mid to end of April, will be Faction Wars.

If you previously had a beta account, the login information will be the same. Both servers will have separate logins. All beta account information will be copied and pasted to both servers. So at the start of Phase II, both servers will have identical characters, levels, and items. If you forgot your old beta username and password, the help desk will help get things sorted out.

If you purchased an item that unlocks zones in Faction Wars, they also count for Phase II. Items that unlocked zones include:
TBW Pass
Dragon up to Mar 8th
Promotional Limited Mount Special

Device depends on 3 factors mainly: Unity engine (main), memory use and processing power. Optimized memory for starting zone and desert so far. Also finished making those lower poly version of characters depending on view (from that video about optimization) but it is not added to game yet. Both our changes should help low end devices. If device still does not work after optimization, then unfortunately it looks as your device will not be compatible with World of Midgard.

If you were one of the users who obtained a zone unlocking item, it should be done automatically. Zones will be mass unlocked for users all at one time. If there are any complications, contact the help desk.

WoM - World of Midgard
FW - Faction Wars
Semi-Beta - The old name of Faction Wars. It was decided for us all to use Faction Wars so that everyone would be on the same page, and to avoid confusion. Some players are still wondering what the Semi-Beta meant.
TBW - Third Beta WoM

Phase I - This was the first half of 3rd Beta. It was open only to users who made certain purchases before and during beta launch.

What unlocks zones in Faction Wars?: If you purchased a Dragon before Mar 8th, 12pm est, you will have zones unlocked in Faction Wars. If you purchased the TBW access pass, you have zones unlocked in Faction Wars. Players who purchased the 5 mount promo pack will have all zones unlocked.

TBW Phase I: Beta is split into different phases. Each phase of beta tests something different. Phase I was all about testing game mechanics, dungeons, bosses, drops, mobs, and various technical stuff such as lighting.

TBW Phase II: Phase II will be about testing server side mechanics such as user account creation, password changes, and how the database server will interact with the servers. There will be three servers. PvE (Donar), PvP (Valkyrie), and a database server.

TBW Access Pass Phase I: This pass was created to let players get into beta who missed the deadlines. The deadline to subscribe and get into beta for free was October 31st 2011. The deadline to gain access to 3rd beta with a dragon purchase was January 15th 9PM EST 2012. Many players were asking to get into beta after the deadlines, and were also offering further donation to get in. By purchasing this pass, you unlock all zones/portals in Faction Wars (other then "battle valley optional adventure zone"). This pass is closed and a access pass for Phase I will not be released. That being said, there will still be a way to gain access to Phase II of beta when the servers are back up.

The Dragon Mount: The dragon is starting to run very low on stock. Only 1000 of them will be sold, ever. March 8th 2012 is the cutoff date to unlock all zones/portals in Faction Wars (other then "battle valley optional adventure zone"). If you purchased a Dragon after March 8th, you will not have any zones unlocked. You can no longer get into 3rd beta with the dragon. The Dragon Mount gives an exclusive "Founding Fathers" title for use in game. The cutoff date to have entered beta with a Dragon purchase was Jan 15th.

Other Mounts: The Rhino and Cockatrice mounts are not exclusive. Those two mounts are already done, so they are being offered for donation purchases. The deal here is if you buy them, they will be granted as permanent mounts to you. The Rhino and Cockatrice are planned to be rental mounts. So no other way to obtain them permanently other than to buy them now.

Other Exclusive Items: The Dragon Mask, Devil Horns, Flaming Halo, Lava Golem, and Dichrous Naga are all exclusive. Meaning that only 1000 will ever be sold. These items have no hidden perks or deals like the Dragon Mount did. Purchasing these items is solely for donation purposes to help in the development on the game.

How Long TBW Will Last - Third Beta was supposed to be ending a few weeks from now (when this thread was posted). All betas are subject to changes, and right now beta does not look like it will shut down for at least another few weeks. 3rd Beta will end once the developers have everything in the game that they want tested before Faction Wars.

When does FW start and how Long Will it Last?: Faction Wars will start shortly after TBW shuts down. Faction Wars is scheduled to last for 6 or more months.

What is FW?: Faction Wars is a cut down version of World of Midgard. It is full of content, but a lot of it will be untested. You can look at this as a extended beta.

When Does the Real World of Midgard Launch?: It is 100% speculation, players think it will go live towards the end of the year. But it is up to the developers to decide if the game is up to the standards they wanted it to be on launch. No official date will be given for the launch of World of Midgard.

Why do zones cost money in Faction Wars? I Thought This was a Free To Play Game??: Faction Wars will be a full scale test run of World of Midgard. It will go on for several months, and purchases in the game will be very limited. The Developers need some sort of income for that 6+ month period to pay for servers, bills, and allow the developers to eat (only some times though :p). You will be given the starter zone for free in FW. All other zones will cost money to unlock. All purchases made in FW are considered donations to Veraxon. Remember, Both the TBW PASS and Dragon Mount unlock all the zones for you for free.

With that being said. Once World of Midgard goes live. All zones will be 100% free. The only purchases would be optional micro-transactions. All items obtainable through IAP's will be truly optional. Everything that is offered for cash purchases can be obtained by playing the game and spending a little time farming. The micro-transactions are there for convenience. You can spend a little real money if you need something fast, or you can spend a little time obtaining it in the game. Little info: The best gear in the game will not be sold IAP. You have to work for the best gears.

Zones/Portals?: There will be 5 zones/portals in Faction Wars. The price on them is undecided at the moment. Zones are just different places within WoM that offer different quests, gears, monsters, and dungeons. Portals are used to transfer from one zone to another. If you don't own the zone, the portal will not work if you try to use it. Tundra zone might be ready for Faction Wars, it might not be.

Mithril Coins: You purchase mithril coins with real money. Mithril Coins are used to make the Micro-Transactions that I was talking about earlier. The option to earn free Mithril Coins will be available too. You can take surveys and download applications (both free and paid) in exchange for Mithril Coins. There is also something called Amber. It does the same thing as Mithril, but is free.

Amber: Amber has the same exact value as Mithril. Almost everything that you can buy with Mithril, you can buy with Amber. Here is the catch, you don't pay for Amber. You can earn Amber for free by playing the game. Amber will drop randomly throughout World of Midgard. It has a low probability drop chance. This means that if you play enough, you really can buy anything in the game for free. Hardcore players tend to need to spend more money on MMO's then casual players. This system really helps out with this. Casual players wont be able to get as much free stuff from Amber, but they also wont need to spend as much. Hardcore players will get a lot more free stuff from Amber, but at the same time they usually have to spend more to stay "Elite". Hardcore players would get more Amber, because they are on more then casual. A hardcore player could obtain quite a few Amber drops while grinding dungeons for Tier 1 gear.

When FW starts, will everyone reset?: No, You will keep all your items, levels, and gold once TBW ends.

What titles are in beta?: Right now, there is the Founding Fathers title from purchasing the dragon. There is a Beta Master title from achieving level 25 in 3rd beta. There is the 1st beta hero title from killing rockface in beta one. There are 2 titles available for helping in beta, requirements are having one confirmed reported bug, and 20 confirmed reported bugs.

Will FW restart once WoM launches?: No, You will keep all your items, levels, and gold once FW ends.

I bought a Dragon/other exclusive item, how do I claim it?: A separate help desk will be set up for players to contact. You can apply your purchase to your character at any point in Phase II of TBW, and FW. Since your decision is final, it is recommended to try out all of the classes before you decide what character you want your content on. I personally recommend to get each of the classes to level 10. You will get a basic understanding of what the class will be like later on in the game, and getting level 10 is fairly quick.

When can IOS users play?: Admin will decide on May 7th if IOS version is good enough to be submitted to Apple.

Will this game be on the PC?: PC is very low priority right now. If we see a PC version of WoM, it will be in at least 3-4 expansions of the official game.
