lol wut?

1. If you expect that every patent ever taken is going to be executed into an actual end product you're mistaken. This is more of a defense mechanism lately
2. Apple won't ever enter the actual console business, most thing they'll allow is Apple TV to play iOS apps in which case they could make a controller beside iOS devices.
3. Apple takes existing product and tunes them up to the state where they become actually easy to control by a variety of people, including children, seniors and disabled people. While doing so they do it in style. I can't imagine anyone saying Apple doesn't copy. MP3 players already existed before iPod, so did smartphones and tablets. Apple didn't invent any of those. Still if you compare iPad to an actual prior tablet you're in for a big surprise.

PS.
First thing I noticed in that Picture is the cord providing electricity. I call BS on this already

Just made me laugh

Try telling that to iOS fanatics, they believe Apple invented it all :p (sliced bread kinda deal)

Another thing that made giggle was purchasing "fingerprint security company" AuthenTec (356mill), while Samsung signed a deal with them 2+ weeks ago.

It's not gonna be as big as PS3 or XBox until at least a year later. There are really not many gamesom the app store that would require a controller to play. Yeah it will get a few sales for the heck of it and convince like playing angry birds/temple run/where's my water (sorry, I don't really play those wonderful games that everyone can't put done for the first month of release, the kiddish games). But there arent any good games that would complement the controller. You can't play mmo's with it, it will take the fun out of DDR type games specially for the iOS devices, the really only good things are single player RPG and FPS, but there aren't even a lot of those that are good. So I don't see it being a big success until way later when more/different games are out.

Like I said. I very much doubt that Apple will try to get into the console business besides PS3 and XBOX, those guys got devs producing serious games with huge budgets. If anything they'll just aim at making their Apple TV better with addition of iOS apps. With jailbroken 5.0.1 Apple TV2 it's already possible to have these apps in 1080p and you already can play Angry Birds on it using a trackpad. The thing missing from it is a decent controller to use it. I see it as a smart move. Having a cheap device that can play cheap 0,99$ games would be great.

Personally I don't mind playing Archetype, Max Payne, The Walking Dead or Final Fantasy 3 on my TV in good quality. Retina for iPad 3 already made it possible to have amazing quality. If they'd just create this controller and provide Apple TV 3 with official support for Apps I'd only have 1 more reason to jailbreak it. Can't live without XBMC

I'm sure if they'd make a controller, it would be possible to use PS3 controllers as well.

I don't see anything wrong with that statement at all. Dude is providing you with his personal view from personal experience. Having the fastest device, the biggest screen and the best plastic rubber around your phone doesn't make it amazing for everyone. Some just see it as bloatware. Some people just need devices that have certain features and work out of the box. Surely you won't force your opinion on him.

If it does come about still doesn't change the fact its a PS controller.. could at least put some effort into it, even if it is only for Apple TV.

I think you missed my meaning, some people just blindly follow Apple products without even realising they are being made a fool. On many counts they have released products with a new name and same hardware as the previous (costing more $$$$$ each release). Tho "fanatics" will still go out and que from stupid o'clock in the morning for its release. Like I said just makes me giggle.

I've learned not to criticise Apple on patents alone over the year, same goes for unfinished products, half of them don't come to light either way. Still waiting for my MacBook pro with a built in 3G antenna or the genius 3D UI to control OS. That being said ... Mate did you see a wire attached to that controller? Do you honestly believe Apple would make such end product? The chances are still big that they'll just allow Bluetooth PS3 controllers upon release if there is a release, which are btw the best controllers I've ever held in my hands.

I respect apple marketing team most of all, those guys are the true geniuses behind the company. The controlled leaks, the silent hype, phones being left in bars, restrictions in stock ... Those are the same people that can make me buy a product I probably didn't need all or make you believe apple has a crazy ammount of people following it. 9/10 people buying Apple products don't follow it online step by step, they just know it exists, know that it works and see it appear in media. The people that buy Apple product on each release are just a bloated percentage of the actual group supporting the company. They stand in line cause they just want the experience and have fun while doing so, nothing wrong with it

Scary if it is all I'd say, ported PS3 was what I first thought but seems they want to go that extra step.

Nothing wrong with it, just knowing Apple are doing you over just have a the hope a newer version is released paying the same amount of money for. Its that sort of shady business that I don't condone no matter what the company/product is.
